Another funday sunday at little beach

On sunday we went with Jake and Simone on a short hike over the lava at La Perouse Bay. It was a pretty amazing scenery out there

surfer memorial :(

Unfortunately little Hollygirl here got stabbed by a mean baby goat who didnt want to play with her. So instead of going to the beach with us, they had to get her stitched up. But shes a trooper and everything is fine now :)

Poor pig.... :(

Chris and I went to meet up with some friends at little beach and we finally got to stay for the after sunset fireshow weve heard so much about!
Exciting! :)

Everyone makes a huge circle, those with drums play them and anyone who wants can perfom.
Pretty cool :)

This guy was insane! At one point his sarong was on fire and i know for a fact he was going commando. Ouch!! :P

The quest for secret waterfalls continues

On saturday we went on a trip to a hidden waterfall our friend Kyle had found randomly a couple of weeks ago.
we parked on the side of Hana highway and started to walk in to the rainforest, when everyone stops and gasps!

WTF??
This is what we have to pass??

If this was a scary movie, this would be the first sign to get the hell outta there! :P

We keep walking and behind the trees we see the gorgeous waterfall that is our destination :)
Soooo beautiful i cant even begin to explain

The hike down to the waterfall was way more hectic than I thought. At one point i found myself hanging singel-handedly from a rope, which I have no idea who put there and when, I have my huge camera in the other hand probably ten spiders in my hair and i am singing out loud to keep myself from panicking!
It was all very dramatic! :P

But it was sooooo worth it when we got to the bottom! Its the highest waterfall ive seen up-close ever in my life!

Im telling you, when you jump in and feel the cold fresh water rinse away the mud and sweat and you know that there is only a handfull of people who has been here before you, it feels truly special.

We break out our lunch and some cold beverages and just hang out around the pool for an hour or so until we feel the rain starting to close in on us. And you know you do not want to be stuck at the bottom of a muddy trail when that happens! :D

We make our way back up the climb, which was haaaard! My thighs are still sore! :P
Then we drive down the road to another beautiful waterfall close to the road to have a cliff-jumping session.

That resulted with a lost Go-Pro camera :(
The guys tried to dive down for it, but its at least 40/50ft deep and pitch black, so no way of ever finding it again.

Im gonna end this with a fun discovery I made that day.
Cause this was all very new to me: the field we had to pass to get to one of the waterfalls, which had a cow grassing on it, is also a place were the Psilocybin mushrooms grow, also known as magic mushrooms :P it just grows randomly on the side of the road like that... I had heard it, but never seen it with my own eyes before! its a funny world we live in! :D

We all agreed it was an amazing day
and we drove back home with smiles on our faces :)

Beachday at little beach Makena, aka the hippie nudebeach :)

This sunday we went to Makena as we always do on sundays.
we met up with Jake and Simone and of course beautiful little Holly girl! :)

After hanging out at Big Beach for a couple of hours Jake asks if we want to go over the cliffs to check out the hippie party at little beach. YES!

Little did we know of what was hiding behind the rocks!

As we begin the climb over the cliffs between the beaches we get caught behind this old hippie lady. She is carrying her huge backpack, no less than 3 different musical instruments and... snorklefeet?! she was high as a horse barely making the climb! haha! pretty funny!
So eventually we make it over to the other side and there is music, people dancing and an awesome energy surrounding this beach.

I was very conscious about taking pictures because of the occasional naked person there, but it didnt seem to bother anyone, so i snapped a few as quick as i could. There was this naked old man, im guessing in his 80´s, dancing to the music HELICOPTER STYLE :P i didnt want to stare, but im telling you, it was quite a performance!! :)

we hung out for an hour drinking beers and looking at all the random characters that surrounded us.

A guy walked passed us minding his own business , with his naked girlfriend in a leash. very random...

Maui never seizes to amaze me ;)

Ya Braw!

yesterday we met up with our friend Kyle from California and his girl Britney. He has lived on the island for 4 years and knows about many secluded and hidden spots, and he wanted to take us hiking.

At first we stopped at this old school that is completely eaten up by a Bunyan tree. (the rumor has it the school burned down and killed many of its young students, and its now haunted by their spirits......)
it is only ruins left of it and the walls are covered in colorful graffiti. When we came there was a group of kids dressed up in camouflage playing paintball.
so cool to come to a place like this and not have it surrounded by fences and signs telling you not to touch etc. Kyle also told us that there have been rave parties here! :) How cool would that be?? :) :)

Bunyan tree swallowing the school

we also found a recently deceased cameleon. freaky! :P

came-came-came-cameleon :P

We continued up Hana highway when the rain started pouring down, so we hid out in the car for a while with a drink to keep us warm :)

we then proceeded to this gorgeous waterfall that Kyle had been introduced to by some locals when he first came to the island.
Kyle climbing up to jump

Such a shame the weather wasnt better, the otherwise crystal clear water was now muddy because of the rain. But still beautiful! :)

We had lunch and a little dupstep party by the side of the road

Monkey!!

Then we headed back to Paia for some frozen yoghurt at my new favorite spot! :)

The best frozen youghurt!!!

Great day!
